Although bikinis and drawings of bikinis have been found in ancient sites that are thousands of years old, the bikini as we know it was invented by two French fashion designers in the 1940s and introduced in July of 1946 to astounding success. This simple, two-piece bathing suit became popular overnight.
Since then, the bikini has gone through many changes, many different styles. There was the "monokini", the "tankini" and even the "mankini".
Today, however, we witness a new dimension in the evolution of the classical bikini: the Blue Glue line offered by Miabikini, Malaysia's own bikini specialty distributor.
Also developed by the French (the experts at all things bikini) the offerings of Blue Glue are cute, cheeky, and fun. They bring a new lightheartedness to the daring swimsuit of the 1950s without losing any of its original stylish look.
You can find these bikinis in all sorts of designs, sizes, vibrant colors, and innovative patterns, from "funky" to "elegant", including a line just for children ages 4-14, and even sizes for the voluptuous figure!
Miabikini is the creation of Cecelia Ang, who has an extensive background in sales and marketing (and who is even mentioned in a recent, well-known book about China trade), and who turned her talents away from IT industry and towards this labor of love.
"Bikinis should be stylish, without being offensive", she says. "These bikinis are flattering to the figure and, due to their colorful patterns and unique concept, stand out in a crowd. I was looking for a style of swimwear that was chic, a little daring, and at the same time cute and very, very attractive. The Blue Glue designers understand how to compliment a woman's frame while at the same time decorating their product with fun images you will see nowhere else."
It's true. Wearing a Blue Glue bikini is like wearing a work of art. It's the hottest product to hit the beach since the jet-ski. And a lot more comfortable!
